Anything you need?
These are very difficult times for each of us. Many people are out of work or receiving salary reductions. If you are concerned about providing food for your family, please reach out to me, or to Julia Hendrix, and we will put you in touch with helpful resources. Please know that these conversations would be confidential.

End of March Newsletter-ish
Instead of attaching my standard newsletter here, I thought I'd just post a few updates and things to look ahead to right here.
Before this 'break' began, we were wrapping up a unit in Math and Science. We worked for weeks on place value as well as ordering and comparing numbers up to 100. We had also done quite a bit of practice adding two digit numbers without carrying or regrouping and were about to move on to subtraction. We studied how light and sound travel and learned how to use vocabulary words like: opaque, translucent, transparent, waves and vibrations.
We had just finished our non-fiction reading unit and were coming back around to some strategies for solving hard words and understanding our books more deeply. We had also just finished the first week of a new unit in phonics and had introduced tapping to read and write words with a suffix -ed (past tense).
Some of the things coming up would be our unit on maps and the globe and following the travels of Flat Stanley. We also would be learning new spelling rules like the long vowel/silent -e rule and plenty of new trick words.
Thank you so much for anything and everything that you are doing at home!
